Support Group Meetings: Weekly meetings facilitated by trained professionals familiar with African cultures to discuss challenges and offer peer support.
One-on-one therapy sessions/coaching will be provided as needed.Â
Mental Health and Well-being Resources: Information and referrals to mental health services, workshops on coping strategies and building resilience.
Community Outreach and Education: Awareness campaigns to reduce stigma around mental health and substance abuse, educational sessions on social determinants of health.
Additional Support Services: Assistance accessing social services, peer mentoring programs, and cultural activities to foster community bonding.
Who We Serve
The AWSG is for African women in the local community, particularly immigrants or those from immigrant families. We welcome women facing challenges related to mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence, and cultural isolation.
